Continuous work on Ontology
As part of the BRIDGITISE training program, the Doctoral Candidates (DCs) have embarked on a collaborative journey to develop a shared ontology for the digitalization of bridge management. This initiative, launched under the guidance of Prof. Michael Havbro Faber (North-Consulting, Aalborg University), aims to establish a common language and conceptual framework that bridges academia and industry.
The ontology will serve as a structured representation of key concepts in Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), supporting sustainability, resilience, and safety in bridge infrastructure. Through literature research, critical discussion, and teamwork, the DCs will identify and refine relevant concepts, drawing inspiration from the Risk, Resilience, and Sustainability (RRS) ontology.
This foundational work will be openly published in the D-BOOK and continuously developed throughout the project.
