The Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute (ZAG) is an internationally recognized organization specializing in construction. The institute is primarily focused on developing new materials and technologies pertinent to the sustainable development of Slovenia and holds international relevance. ZAG actively participates in international projects, collaborating and sharing knowledge with leading research groups globally.

KTH Royal Institute of Technology is a public university in Stockholm, Sweden. It was established in 1827. KTH is ranked 73 in the world among all universities and 44 in the subject of Civil and Structural Engineering, according to the 2024 QS World University Rankings. KTH has 5 campuses with a total of over 13 000 full-time students, 1 700 PhD students and 3 600 full-time equivalent staffs. 
The Division of Structural Engineering and Bridges is led by Prof. Raid Karoumi and consist of 2 full professors, 2 associate professors, 3 researchers and 10 PhD students. The research consists of both experimental, numerical and theoretical work and covers several areas related to railway bridge dynamics, train-track-bridge interaction, soil-structure interaction, traffic induced vibrations, reliability-based assessment of bridge dynamics, footbridge dynamics, fatigue and conditional assessment of bridges, and Structural health monitoring of bridges. 
The division has participated in several international research projects, such as the 6th Framework EU project Sustainable Bridges, the RFCS project ELEM – Composite Bridges with Prefabricated Decks, the Scandinavian project ETSI – Bridge Life cycle Optimisation, the Marie Curie project Long Life Bridges, the 7th Framework EU project CAPACITY4RAIL, the EU Shift2Rail projects In2Smart, In2Track, In2Track2 and In2Track3, and the EU-Rail project IAM4RAIL.

The Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) is a technical-scientific departmental research institution under the jurisdiction of the German Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV). It advises the BMDV as well as other public and private bodies in the field of roads. In doing so, the BASt conducts its own research and also awards research contracts to third parties. 
Unit B4 “Maintenance of Engineering Structures” in the department “Civil Engineering Structures” deals, among other things, with issues of condition assessment and evaluation of road infrastructure structures, in particular bridges. In this context, the inspection of structures according to DIN 1076 and its improvement or further development, also including new innovative techniques (NDT; monitoring, UAV/UAS, VR/AR, …), play an important role.
